Andreena is from Newcastle, Australia and is living in Bangkok, Thailand from January to early August in 2018 as Youth Advocate for the UN. She is completing an internship with Humanitarian Affairs Asia, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme. She is a whisper away from completing a Bachelor of Law (Honours)/ Diploma of Legal Practice at the University of Newcastle, Australia (UoN) and graduated with a Bachelor of Business, Majoring in International Business at UoN in 2016.
For the past seven years Andreena has been advocating in her community in Lake Macquarie. She began this journey at 17 years old with being elected as Chairperson of the Lake Macquarie Youth Advisory Council and appointed as the Youth Ambassador for Hunter Life Education in 2011. The following year she was selected to be the Youth Member for Lake Macquarie in the YMCA NSW State Parliament, where she was appointed as Shadow Youth-Attorney General. During this time she was the Media & Marketing Coordinator for Cancer Council’s Newcastle/Lake Macquarie Relay for Life.
In 2014 she was elected as Vice President of Sponsorship of the University of Newcastle Law Students’ Association, and was elected as President the following year. In 2016 she was elected as the Sponsorship Officer for the Australian Law Students’ Association, and was appointed as NSW Representative and National Communications Coordinator. Andreena has been the Youth Representative for The Place, Youth & Community Centre for the past four years, and has held the position of Secretary for the past two years.
